The ventilation systems in rooms 467 and 567 will be refurbished to improve air quality in the lecture theatres. Work is scheduled to begin in week 26, the week after Midsummer. The work is likely to cause some very disruptive construction noise.
The ventilation in the offices on floors 4 and 5 in the west and north wings is out of order. The fault has been reported to Akademiska hus. We have not yet received a forecast for when the fault may be fixed. The windows in the offices can be opened for ventilation if necessary. If the poor air quality is experienced as a problem, it should be possible to work from home while the fault is being fixed.
The service team is attending a conference in Västerås from 4 to 7 May. Kicki and Ylva will be here to keep things running smoothly.

SFC transformed into BYOL+H
The Support For Colleagues (SFC) lunches, which Hajnalka Bodnar has been organising for many years, will come to an end today, 8 April, and will instead be replaced by the new initiative Bring Your Own Lunch and Handicraft (BYOL+H), which Alexandra Fransson recently invited everyone to join. We will test to organise this on the same day as our monthly breakfasts, and perhaps have it evolve to a biweekly event - depending on interest. Anyone interested is warmly welcome to DC:493 during lunch today from 12.00 to 13.00, where Hajni and Alexandra will welcome you. Bring along any handicraft of your choice – knitting, crochet, embroidery or something else!

For those of you who don’t have Swedish as your mother tongue but are in the process of learning Swedish, we are happy to continue after Easter with Svenska på lunchen / Talk Swedish during lunch. Bring your own food and share challenges – in Swedish – with moving to and living in Sweden, ask about strange cultural phenomena or other things that you find interesting! Svenska på lunchen is a part of the Department of Design Sciences’ work with Gender Equality, Equal Conditions and Diversity – jämställdhet, lika villkor och mångfald.

GU
New Routines for how we communicate course results to students – Emphasize the importance of handling students' personal data in accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
It happens that students file complaints against the faculty due to their personal data being sent out by email or on a learning platform by teachers in connection with the announcement of results for examination elements. It is important to remember in this context that even masked personal data numbers, where e.g. date of birth is visible, are considered personal data. It is then sufficient for someone to know another student's birthday for the student to be identified.
MOST IMPORTANT INFO!
It is of utmost importance that we review our routines for how we communicate course results to students. It is the responsibility of each course teacher to ensure that the guidelines below are followed. TLTH and the study councils have been tasked with reporting back to LGGU if we break the rules.
Note that no result lists in any form (dugga, extra points etc.) may be shared in a group, i.e. not even on a closed forum like Canvas.
If, against the odds, a mistake should occur, make sure to report it to LTH yourself – beatrice [dot] nordlof [at] lth [dot] lu [dot] se (beatrice[dot]nordlof[at]lth[dot]lu[dot]se) – directly at the event instead of waiting for the Union's information at a CEQ meeting.
Think about:
Do you need to publish a result list at group level? If YES - the only option to publish the result list at group level is if it contains anonymous codes. Masked social security numbers are not allowed.
How can you best communicate results to everyone? One-to-one communication is the only thing allowed (Canvas/mail/Ladok). There are several different ways to do this, see examples below.
If none of the options above work for your course and you need help or tips on how to communicate results correctly – talk to colleagues or with Elin.

March 4, 1923 – The second edition of the Vasaloppet is held, and gymnastics director Margit Nordin becomes the first woman to participate. Since the competition is intended as a “test of strength” for real “men,” the race committee decides after this to ban women from participating in the Vasaloppet. It is not until 1981 that women are again allowed to take part, and only in 1997 is a separate women’s class established.
Today is Banana Day, a theme day dedicated to celebrating bananas. The day highlights the banana’s nutritional value and versatility.

LU has adopted an AI policy available on the staff website – it is very general. The LU Education Board is working on developing more specific guidelines. LTH has guidance from 2023 (which applies now) and will update it once the new guidelines are ready.
The Exam Service is developing a new billing model; more information is coming.
LU has launched the new education portal https://www.lu.se/studera. All old pages with LTH-specific education information will be removed. Independent courses are not yet listed. It is important to check how your courses and programs are presented to prospective students; incorrect information can lead to incorrect recruitment.
LGGU is working on a shortened and revised CEQ form. More info will come later. For LP3 and LP4, the current CEQ applies.
There are currently about ten different scholarships where we can nominate well-executed theses and thereby offer an extra reward to students who excelled. An email with nomination info has been sent; contact the GU study director if you are missing information.
LU’s initiative for a shared education website for the entire university has now been launched. Course coordinators and program directors for autumn courses should have been contacted. If you cannot find a course on the shared website, it is because upcoming course instances have not yet been published. They will be before admissions open on March 15.
